Sonnet 1

Red-hot and thrusting forwards,

Brilliantly bright,never coming backwards.

Flares up the body and the soul,

Makes you and me sprint like Pyol.

The only force that is unstoppable.

Try all you want,its unquenchable.

It matures you,

It grows.

It shines you,

It refines you.

It distincts you from the ordinary,

Raises you up to the extraordinary.

It's the blazing flame which embarks us on endless missions,

It is none other, than our very own Ambitions.

huthaifa AHSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

Euphoria,excitement and bliss!
A perfect trio of emotions!

For the past couple of days,my toye teacher and PPT(Personal Pupil Tutor, kinda like a guidance Councillor)Mam Asifa Naz Khan,me,Raheel Bhai(the Head Boy) and the House Master were fretting away and preparing my junior and cousin-like friend Huthaifa for the Inter-House English Debate.

The topic was "Boss is Always Right". I was given the topic and I made up the speech on the spot.
It was completely related with my boarding schools routine, like how our houseboy wakes us up 15 mins early! And we can't do anything because Abbas Bhai is the houseboy and the houseboy is ALWAY right!
:D
We made funny jokes on everyone like the housemaster, teachers, housemistress, the housecaptain and even the principal!
:P
I had my heart in my throat,I won 1st last year and my senior Iqbal Bhatti at that time came first in the senior category. This is Raheel Bhai's last year so he is doing the speech today.Yesterday it was the Junior English Declamation and I was praying that Huthaifa would be prepared and at least withhold our house,Mehran's reputation.

I heard all the speeches and all the kids delivered their hearts out. Before Huthifa came on his turn the Azan rang and I prayed Allah would help us.He started of with a bang and looked so comfortable.SO at ease,I along with my housemates clapped and cheered. He was getting comfy and enjoying his speech, controlling the crowd!

When he ended with a perfect end I gave a loud ovation.(having goosebumps as I type :P)

When the Positions were being announced I prayed like a madman.

3rd Position goes to Sheryar, Ghani House!

2nd Position goes to Faizan Butt,Sanober House!

*Fingers crossed

1ST POSITION GOES TOO..................................................................................................................

 ...................

...................

Huthaifa Ahsan,MEHRAN HOOOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSE!!!!!

I JUMPED IN THE AIR!
YEAHHHHH!

yEAH cHEEZ Huzzuuuu!!!!

IU clapped and grinned and smiled.

Surprise Surprise!

                                    Alhamdulillah!

Today couldn't of had started better.First up,after offering Fajr,we had to run all the way from our house to the swimming pool, over the dispensary and then down the road to our houses. It sounds easy but believe me,its around 4 km and  you are just up.The cherry on top is that its about 14 C in the morning and we have jackets and sweaters all over, and warm socks weighing us down.
:P
Alright, the amazing thing.During assembly, the new principal encouraged us to speak extempore,so he gave the topic

"A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words"

Somebody had to come on stage and then deliver a speech on this topic.I wasn't willing to go,but the 11th Graders behind me kept on nudging me and encouraging me.My housemates did it too.The tension was in the air.Someone,ANYONE!

Mustering up courage, with my eyes on my shoes I slowly raised my right hand.

"Oh!There is a student!Come up!Big round of applause for him!"he boomed.

As I was making my way to the stage all the rest 8 houses and the teachers clapped.I slowly came up and after a few more words by the principal,I took the rostrum.

At first my voice shook and my legs were shaking as if an earthquake was roaring nearby. My palms were really sweaty.

I started of and as I said more words,my voice got higher and my legs stopped turning into jelly and transformed into rocks.I started using body language too!

Most of all,I enjoyed it!
:D
The thrill, the audience and all the people expecting something good,I delivered.
As I left the stage,I shook hands with the principal, headmaster and the DHMs.

Till this last lesson, all the teachers really appreciated me,even those who don't teach me.They say they expect more of this.Students were ecstatic! They kept on cheering me!
:P

I end this blog post by what Sir C.M Afzal(the DHM) said as I sat back down in the Mehran House rows.
"Well done Syed Ahmad Aamir,he saw,he came, and he...",his words hung in the air for some time and he finished,:conquered.

Back at Hell-cum-Heaven

After what was like a magical and memorable Eid holidays,I came back to my boarding school,CBS today.

Yesterday, when I was at the bus station.Abu(read dad! :P) had given me money and I already had clothes.I felt like running away and coming back to home.
I didn't because:

  1. You cant get from Lahore to Karachi with only Rs. !500.
  2. I am a wimp.
Plus I thought how mum would feel so I dropped it.Came back and felt home-sickness in long waves.Missed all the freedom and the wild, coherent CHAOS!

Chatting, net using, gaming and all the wild things a person can't do at B.Schools I did in abandon!
:P
Still miss all that wild fun,but now I have to be back in line and disciplined.
Let's see how quick I adapt back in the routine where you have to wake-up at 5 and sleep at 10!

Yours mournfully,
Ahmad.
P.S
My birthday is in a mere 4 days!

Y Why WHY????

Kyuuuuun?(Why in Urdu)

Ok,so get this.11:46,the last period of the day which ends on 12 pm.
I got a piece of paper with the names of the contestants of today's

(Drumrolls)

Inter-House Solo Singing Contest!

I am supposed to be the host of the event, talk about short notice.
And to top it all of,I am going back to Karachi tomorrow.
I can't wait to go back. The weather is getting colder over here.
Hey,I am getting a weird Dejavu feeling!
Just looking at the clock, its on 11:52,then I'll have to go up on stage!
*goosebumps.
I get stage fright for the first few minutes but once I build momentum I am unstoppable.A lot of teachers praised me after I hosted the Academic Day.(>.<)

Checking out this cool site Mam Sara told me about=
http://www.scribd.com/

Its for dozens of articles and stories!
:P
3  mins left till the bell(11:57).
If you wonder why I am always in such a hurry to close and log out it is because of the fact that the lab attendants simply cut off the main supply and leave your work vulnerable to hackers.

Next update from out of CBS!
Allahafiz,this is me logging out~!

English Essay Writing Competition

Yesterday was the both senior and junior essay writing inter-house.
There are 8 Houses in all, fighting for the co-curricular trophy.
In both the categories there were 2 students from each house.
From Mehran House(my home sweeet hooome!)

Jrs were:

1.Huthaifa Ahsan

2.Hassan Ibtasam

Srs were:

1.Najeeb-Ullah Khan

2.Syed Ahmad Aamir

(yours truly)

There were 3 topics for each side,I picked the one;

Describe the sights and sounds during P.T time.
Word limit was 300-500.

I wrote a slightly comical and light as well as airy type of a story.
I took a major risk that I wrote a story,as it would of been safer to write a descriptive essay.

3 mins left to the bell,

11:57!

Cya,
I'll tell the results as soon as they are announced!

Till then,Allahafiz and take care!
:D

*Sigh

Hmmmmm.
Only about a week or to left to my holidays and then I will be able to go back to Karachi.
I feel so stressed out.The routine, the busy life and the running to and fro is really mentally driving me nuts.
Even as I type this I keep on peeping at the windows clock on the bottom left corner of the screen which indicates.

11:35

The period ends at

11:50!!!

Funny thing happened right now.Sarim Hayat was pulling out the keyboard stand on my right and it came tumbling out and Crashed and Banged down to the floor. It was loud in the silence of the computer lab.
We being typical Cbstians did the one thing we are always good at.
We cheered and clapped as the lab attendant scurried over.

AH!
With laughs and small fun moments every now and then, how can I not live at my home away from home?
                                                                             :D

Aegis and Ages

Literally AGES,since my last update.
A long time and even longer experiences to share.
A'right first up.last week I went to Islamabad with my schools sports contingent for our annual sports fixtures.I was the reporter and I kept on writing everything even the most minuscule of things. In a 3 days trip I managed like,30 pages!
:P
It was exhilarating. The experience! We had three matches,
1.Basketball
2.Football
3.Cricket.

 FIXTURE WITH HEAD START SCHOOL

We went to Islamabad and resided in the Allama Iqbal Hostel.
The rooms were neat, with 2 beds and cupboards each. Our meals were in a gargantuan mess with self-service.
(The line was MILES Looong!)
The first match of the fixture was a spicy thriller of a basketball match.I was the commentator-cum-reporter,writing fervishly all the action that enrolled on in the game.First few quarters were dominated by CBS but then  HS fought back hard.We got a lot of fouls and bumps and our main players
Saffi-ullah Babur,Rehan(Capt) and Imran were sent out of the match.By the time our new players got used to the ball, the Ref whistled thrice and the Hamidi Hall was full of pandemonium by the HS supporters.

Head Start draws first blood

So out of three matches we lost the 1st,meaning the next two were a must win.
Later on that evening, there was a WAR in the Jinnah Stadium with the cannon being the football.Cbstians marched to the Jinnah Stadium with do-or-die on their lips.
This was the critical moment of the fixture and an Everest to climb for the football Captain Majid Khan.
As soon as the whistle blew, both sides started the assault.
The first half was eventful as both teams attempted to score goals. The HS players were were very mature and penetrating their defenses was no easy task.
The attacked as well and they missed a huge chance when keeper Waqas was out of the D and an HS attacker missed the goal barely.

We breathed again and thanked God.

With determination(and a lot of threatening by the coach) we started the 2nd half.
All this time I was commentating with Taimoor Imran.

Sajawal Bashir was substituted in for Usama Khalid and in mere minutes he assisted the ball to the captain Majid who shot it swinging away from the keeper into the goal.

YEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It was as if the stadium was on fire!
Majid danced with his fingers pointing heavenwards he ran like the wind!
19 mins later the whistle blew, indicating the end and we all rushed in to throw him up on our shoulders, the Hero who won us the sports match

CBS  HS

   1   -   0!

Cricket match was last on the list.We were equal with one game won by each team.
The next day,we went to Shalimar Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi for the last and deciding match.
Our cricket kits are like the Pakistan Team's silver practice kit, whereas theirs were like Zimbabwe's red ones.

They won the toss and chose to bowl. A deathly mistake.
Openers
Arslan Malik
and
Inam-ullah Niazi
Smacked boundary upon boundary.
Arslan Malik kept the strike and got to his 50 in less then 10 overs!
The opening stand was 100 plus!
A.M top scored with 88 off 66 balls.
Niazi got out on 50.
The middle order batsmen came and struck boundary upon boundary. It was raining fours and sixes! We had a lot of wickets in hand, and a great opening partnership. We did the only   and propelled the total to a mammoth 276!

We had our break and ate Server Rice.(scrumptious! :P )
In the next innings,Rana Salman knocked down the 1st wicket when the score was just 28.
And the bowlers kept on taking wickets at regular intervals.

When they were going really well Inam-ullah Niazi took a blinder of a catch at the most difficult fielding position, point.

Abbas Khan Swati from HeadStart strucked well timed boundaries for his 42.
The rest went cheaply.
The last wicket fell in the last over bowled by skipper Raheel Haider.
They tried to take a double off a misfield but M.Fayyaz was dead accurate as he ran him out.

CBS WON THE MATCH BY 100 RUNS.

                        AND THE FIXTURE BY

                                        2-1!!!

Busy,Busy Bee.

Alright, been quite some time since I haven't updated.
Trust me,I have been as busy as a bee.Even today is the inter-house calligraphy competition.
YIKES!
Don't have a clue.I was the host of the Academic Day a few days ago along with Saffiullah.

Plus a night before that there was our cultural evening.
It was on such a short notice that we only did three performances.A skit I wrote last year based on Friendship,a dance by 2 Jrs on Desi Boyz and a song by another singing Jr.

It was good and highly enjoyable. The only blunder was the mike.We didn't place it in the middle and very few people got the essence of the skit!
Oh well.
Studies are getting harder and harder.
Toyes are flewing by in SecONDS@!
( Toye = study time(Ironic,No?) )

Plus I wake up every day, arounf 4:50 because the namaz is at 5:10

3 weekiestsa!

Augh,the Humanity!
About three weeks roughly and my head is  spinning out of control.I had to shift from my old Dormitory # 6 to
Dormitory # 7 and then to Dorm # 9!
So much shifting!
Plus all the subjects have gotten more complicated and tremendously HARDER,then before.I have to hang on to every word of the teachers just to understand them!
A new tall kid from America came to our class today. His name is Shazaib.Man is he tall, when he came in with shorty Umar Farooq to class,Ashfaque asked Umar if his dad came with him!
:P
Everything seems much more dry and boring.I am trying to follow the tough routine. The most unfair thing in the entire routine is the Computer Lab lessons.
1 lesson per week.
40 mins only.
Make that 30,as it takes us about 10 minutes to just come here and then get a good computer.
Speaking of that Lab lesson,on Monday after break I was assaulted by WASPS!

I was climbing the stairs and was about to enter the lab when one came and stung me on my left ear.I sprinted, towing my books laden satchel along with me.My heavy bag slowed me down, and I received another sting on my back.

I thundered down the corridor(narrowly missing an English sir)and then writhed on the floor.

The pain, the insane pain.Fire going through my body.I couldn't handle it.It was searing, burning and I was churining from the inside.

(By the way I am typing one might think I was Bella and was injected with vampire venom) :P

I threw my bag and keys to my classmates and ran out of the Jilani Block and out on the main road.I took of my school shirt and was panting heavily. My ear had swelled to the size of a giant WALNUT!
I had a mini-Mount Everest on my back.
I kept on brisk walking and saw a lot of my Juniors in the way.

The doors of the dispensary BURST open and in jumped      Ahmad.

"Latif Bhai,Latif Bhai,I need an injection!" I managed to speak with a semi-dry throat.

I was taken to the ward where Usama Latif,I good friend of mine was resting. He saw me get injected TWICE!Once on my right arm,but due to lack of vein visibility I had to get another on my left.

HE IS A WITNESS THAT I DIDN'T CRY OUT IN PAIN LIKE A SISSY GIRL!

Due to the anesthesia and the sleeping drugs in the injection,I felt sleepy.I snoozed and snored for 2 periods and a half.I woke up and Abbas Bhai took me back on his cycle to school .
Only last 5 mins were going on then.

Time = 10 O clock.
About to be up,
That is all for now, sorry fror the typos and spleeing mishtakes as I am a hurry and out of paractise.
Sayoonara and Allahafiz!
:D

New Teachers Arrive,Old Teachers Depart.

                            Da da Da Dummmm!

In the computer lab as the Islamiat Professor,Sir M.Ali Zafar didn't come today.I hope he is well.
I and the rest of 10th C is in the lab.Zeeshan Tariq is playing games on miniclip,Haziq is viewing pictures of cars,Ashaq is looking things up related to studies.

The old atmosphere is gone.A lot of changes are here. There are a lot of new teachers over here at Chand Bagh now.If truth be told, the look really stunned.A little confused too.Imagine going through the academic block after just barely 3-4 days, and NOT gettting lost in the maze of the identical looking corridors.I remember in my first year,I got lost till the first few weeks!

Some mischevious old students sent me the wrong way,and instead of the Arts Room,I ended up at Physics lab!
I hope they aren't facing the same.I for myself have tried to be friendly, greeting them whenever they pass, and trying to make them feel more welcome.

Naturally all of the male teachers are quite frank and open with us,whereas the female teachers think that we are "Rowdy Rough Boys".
:P
I just want to correct that.I myself am not perfect, why I am perfect at being imperfect! But the difference is that I try to be perfect. :D
There are a lot of other great and WONDERFUL students here. Its just that, spotting them and then interacting with them is kind of hard for new teachers due to majority being disruptive and naughty. These boys themselves avoid trouble,so I take my hat Off to old teachers who not only controled the naughty ones but also, spotted the talented ones and shined them till they were sparkling clean!
:D
I myself am so lucky to have those teachers whom I don't consider a person to keep secrets from.
Cbstian (pronounced Sebastian) teachers are not plain teachers. They are an elder brother, father and a best friend all gift wrapped into one.Mothers too!

All my life I thought that you have to cold shoulder teachers but, thats palin impossible here if your at CBS.
The teachers are a life-line when your parents aren't here.

They are the support on which we are leaning on and learning to walk our way outside the "cold and cruel world!"
The equation is

Student giving Respect = Teachers giving endless Love.

I hope I keep on being a good student, work hard and most of all, never disappoint my parents.
Till the next time I get a free period,
this is me,Ahmad(more commonly called Ahmad Aamir)
Signing Out.

First Day,Back At Chand Bagh School.

Woah!
I didn't feel anything when I was packing or setting my things right for my boarding school.
Even on the road trip I was silent and not fussed.
But the main impact hit me,when I saw the outer gates of Chand Bagh.My heart fluttered up my throat and I was frozen.I saw the familiar grounds, the greenery. The magnificent sceenery. But then it hit me,
I am here for my Hat-rick year.
No parents, family or outside friends anymore.
I also felt really heavy and was in a dream-like state when I was unpacking my stuff.I got my same dormitory as last year, and picked my same old cupboard even though a better one was unoccupied.I am really attached and used to it, thats why!
:D
I also was scared and tensed up about O Levels this year, but I talked to my sister and she calmed me down. She also motivated me to perform better and take this like a challenge!
So far,so good.
My old Matron has gone to another house and a new one has taken her place. She is not as jolly as her but she is kind and caring like her.
Lets see in a few weeks time what her true demeanor is!
:P
A lot of new teachers have came.Female ones too, which is kind of surprising as last year there were very few few female teachers.About 10%,this year there is a major increase and now they stand at 25%!
I am just hoping that they will be able to teach us Rowdy, rough boys.
:P
